WHAT THIS TOOL ADDS
Check a file’s recorded history.
Content Credentials may record who signed a file’s history, which tools were used and whether the signed record is valid. An AI detector instead looks for patterns in the content.

See the software, source materials and changes listed in the file’s signed record, when available.
What this cannot confirm
A valid signature does not establish whether the events or statements in a file are true.
INTERPRETATION
Use provenance and detection for different questions.

Start with the original file.
- Preserve the highest-quality original file.
- Inspect available Content Credentials and validation failures.
- Check the earliest source and surrounding context.
- Use an AI detector as one clue, alongside the other checks.
- Verify identity independently when money, access or reputation is at risk.
